RMA New England Chapter Zoom Meeting

Lunch and Learn Sponsor Series with BDC Capital:
Navigating Non-Conventional Credit Enhancement Programs

If so, then listen in and learn about these state and federal loan programs: CAP, CDFI, RLF, SBIC, SSBCI, SBA 504, SBA 7(a), and SBA CA.

This interactive Zoom meeting will explain and address the pros and cons of each program and the basic eligibility requirements.

The speakers will be Karim Hill, President of BDC Community Capital, and Carol Brennan, Director of Business Development of BDC Capital. The panel will be moderated by Paul Flynn, President & CEO, of BDC Capital.
There will be ample time for questions, as well as a networking session at the end of the Q&A period.

Paul F. Flynn, Jr. - President & CEO of BDC Capital and New England Certified Development Corp.

Paul Flynn is the President & CEO of BDC Capital and New England Certified Development Corp., the company’s SBA 504 lending affiliate. Mr. Flynn’s role includes strategic development and oversight of both internal operations and new business development throughout New England. His experience includes over 30 years of lending to the New England business community.

Prior to joining BDC Capital, Mr. Flynn served as Regional Leader and SVP ABL Dept. Manager & Commercial Lending at Berkshire Bank, ABL Department Manager of TD Bank, and Senior Vice President of Banknorth. Mr. Flynn began his banking career at BayBank in 1986. He received his undergraduate degree from Fairfield University and an MBA from Babson College.

Mr. Flynn is a member of Secured Finance Network and the Association for Corporate Growth and is a past President of the Turnaround Management Association’s Northeast Chapter.

Karim Hill - President, BDC Community Capital Corp.

Karim Hill is the President of BDC Community Capital Corp. Karim’s role includes strategic development and oversight of both internal CDFI operations and new business development throughout the targeted areas.

He was previously the Regional President New England South for Santander Bank. Prior to joining Santander, Karim was the President and CEO for the New England Business Association. He also has held leadership roles at several commercial banks such as Citizens Bank, Capital One Bank, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo. During his tenure at Citizens Bank, Karim served as the EVP- Consumer Banking Director for New England at Citizens Bank. In this role he held responsibility for 205 retail branches, small business banking, and consumer lending activities throughout the region.

Carol Cedrone Brennan - Director of Business Development, BDC Capital


Carol Cedrone Brennan is the Director of Business Development for BDC Capital. She is responsible for keeping the BDC Capital name before the business, banking, and investment communities. Her primary focus is on BDC Capital’s asset-based lending, term debt, and mezzanine financing throughout the six New England states, as well as the Massachusetts Recycling Loan Fund and the Massachusetts and Rhode Island Capital Access Programs.

Carol has been with BDC Capital since January of 1998. Carol is also a past board member of the New England Chapter of the Risk Management Association (RMA). She earned a B.A. in finance from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a master’s degree in management from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
