About our Speaker:

James DunphyJames Dunphy, Chief Executive Officer
, began his career at Kennedy and Lehan CPAs in Quincy and later became a Manager at Grant Thornton LLP in Boston. 

Jim moved to Granite Bank and as Senior VP and led the Accounting Department, Residential Lending and a Commercial Lending team. 

Jim was the founding President and Chief Executive Officer of Hampshire First Bank from its inception to its sale in 2012.  During the integration, he served as State President for NBT Bank.  He has been with South Shore Bank for over seven years and has served as President and Chief Executive Officer since 2015.

Jim’s connection to the community runs deep. He serves on the boards of various non-profit and business organizations including the South Shore Chamber of Commerce, South Shore YMCA, South Shore Workforce Development Board and Leadership SouthShore.

About our Moderator:

Carolyn NormandCarolyn Normand has been in banking for over 17 years and recently started with South Shore Bank as Chief Credit Officer. She was previously a Senior Credit Officer with People’s United Bank in Boston, responsible for review, approval, and management of credit portfolios covering Franchise Lending; Commercial and Industrial teams in MA, Non-Profit Lending; and large MA Business Banking. Prior to People’s United she worked with Rockland Trust as a Commercial Credit Manager/Credit Officer managing a team of 25 credit team leaders and analysts. She has also worked for People’s United, Santander, and Wells Fargo holding various roles in credit, portfolio management, underwriting, residential loan funding and closing, and documentation audit.

Carolyn earned her MS in Business Ethics and Compliance from New England College of Business and Finance, a BS in Accounting from UMass Dartmouth, and a Certificate for Women in Leadership from Cornell University. She is on the Board of Directors for the Risk Management Association – New England Chapter and is active in women’s leadership events as a keynote speaker and panelist. She lives in Plymouth with her husband Paul and small parrot Marley.
