This highly-anticipated conversation will feature Chief Credit Officer Michael Kuhn of Cambridge Savings Bank, Deputy Chief Credit Officer Katerina Papp of Eastern Bank, and Senior Credit Executive Garth Collins of M&T Bank.
The wide-ranging discussion will cover a variety of issues and challenges facing the Commercial Banking industry in 2025 and beyond including tariffs, the future of federal funding, bank participation risk, talent recruitment, DEI and the labor market. The panel event will be moderated by Steve Krase of Crowe, and will be followed by a networking.

Michael Kuhn - Chief Credit Officer, Cambridge Savings Bank
Michael Kuhn is the Chief Credit Officer, SVP of Cambridge Savings Bank. He has been with Cambridge Savings Bank since 2007, primarily as a C&I Relationship Manager and more recently a Team Leader in the C&I group focused on the lower middle market and renewable energy project finance. He moved into the role of Chief Credit Officer in July of 2024.
Mike grew up in the Philadelphia area, where he attended Rowan University in the evenings, attaining his Bachelor of Arts in Finance while working full-time for Commerce Bank (now TD Bank). He has over 20 years of professional experience in the banking and financial services industry, including roles at Cambridge Savings Bank, Rockland Trust, The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, Equity Bank (now BB&T), and Commerce Bank (now TD Bank) . He serves as the treasurer for Just a Start Corporation in Cambridge, MA, is a Capstone advisor at the Stonier Banking School, on the advisory committee of Pine Street Capital Partners III a SBIC headquartered in Albany, NY and speaks nationally on solar project finance.
Mike now resides in Arlington, MA with his wife and daughter. He enjoys traveling, golfing, and finding new adventures with his family.
Katerina Papp - Deputy Chief Credit Officer, Eastern Bank
Katerina Papp is the Deputy Chief Credit Officer at Eastern Bank, where she has built a 20+ year career across roles in Commercial Lending, Managed assets and Commercial Credit. In her current role, she co-chairs the Commercial Credit Committee and oversees the Commercial Credit and Risk Analytics Groups. She is responsible for commercial portfolio credit risk monitoring, commercial loan approvals, credit policies, underwriting guidelines, ACL reserve methodologies and public loan portfolio disclosures.
Katerina is also a recipient of numerous awards, including Eastern Bank’s Core Value Award for Risk Management, the Presidents Club Award, and the Boston Business Journal’s “40 under 40” award. She serves on the board of the RMA New England Chapter and holds an MBA from Suffolk University, a BS in Economics from Vilnius University in Lithuania, and a Graduate certificate in Executive Bank Management from the Consumer Bankers Association. She resides in Reading, MA with her husband Michael and their two children.
Garth J Collins - Deputy Credit Officer, M&T Bank
Garth Collins is Executive Vice President, Deputy Credit Officer of M&T Bank. Garth has almost 40 years of experience in commercial banking with a career split between line and credit. In his current role, Garth oversees a number of M&T’s specialty verticals with national footprints including Fund Banking, Large Corporate, Financial Institutions and Franchise Lending.
He serves as co-chair of Manager’s loan Committee and has responsibility for credit policy and underwriting guidelines within his groups. Garth began his career at Bank of Boston and it’s successors before joining People’s United Bank in 2004 and merging with M&T in 2022. He has three children and three grandchildren and resides in Newport, RI with his wife Janet and their two dogs.
