This RMA Women’s Affinity Group luncheon event will address all aspects of Asset-Based Lending. The panel will include an ABL relationship manager, a credit officer, a workout officer, as well as a field auditor.

There will be plenty of time to network, ask questions of the speakers and, of course, enjoy a great lunch at Fireside Classic American Grille!

Panelists:

Jessica Melching, Vice President, Asset Based Lending, Rockland Trust Company

Jessica MelchingJessica Melching joined Rockland Trust’s Asset Based Lending team as Vice President, Relationship Manager in March 2017 and manages a $215MM loan portfolio of middle market and large corporate size borrowers across various industries with loan amounts between $10-30MM. Responsibilities include structuring and underwriting new loan opportunities, developing strong borrower relationships and providing financial products and services to meet client needs.

Previously, Jessica was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Wells Fargo US Corporate Bank in New York co-managing a team of Analysts and credit workflow for a $1.9B large corporate syndicated loan portfolio. Industries covered included aerospace and defense, media and telecom, and industrials. Overall, Jessica has almost 20 years of experience as a credit and lending professional in the ABL, large corporate and middle market lending arenas. She also held various positions in underwriting and relationship management at Wells Fargo Equipment Finance, Citigroup and Morgan Stanley.

Jessica earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. She also completed Morgan Stanley’s credit training program in New York. Jessica has volunteered her time to support the South Shore Chamber of Commerce as Chairwoman of the Business Resource Group since 2017.

Carolyn Normand, Senior Credit Officer, People’s United Bank

Carolyn Normand has over 15 years of commercial banking experience. She is responsible for review, approval, and portfolio management of credit covering Commercial and Industrial teams in Boston, Worcester, and Springfield; Franchise Lending; Not-for-Profit Lending; and Business Banking.

Prior to People’s United she worked with Rockland Trust as the Commercial Credit Manager managing a team of 25 credit analysts responsible for analyzing and underwriting large commercial relationships across the bank footprint. Carolyn also worked at Santander as a Credit Officer/Portfolio Manager and Wells Fargo as a Commercial Underwriter.

Carolyn earned her Master’s degree in Business Ethics and Compliance from New England College of Business and Finance, a BS in Accounting from UMass Dartmouth, and recently completed a certificate program with eCornell University focused on Women in Leadership. She resides in West Wareham with her husband and enjoys cooking and attending live music events.

Kate Brunelle VP, Team Leader, Workout Dept., TD Bank

Kate Brunelle has been with TD Bank since 2005. After two years as a Credit Analyst in the Regional Bank, she moved to Workout in 2008 at the peak of the last recession. She has served as a Workout Officer running a portfolio of problem loans for most of her time with the department, and in 2014 took on the additional responsibility of Team Leader.

In her role, Kate leads a team of Workout Officers managing portfolios of commercial loans and manages her own portfolio of credits sized $7.5MM or larger. Her portfolio consists mostly of Regional and Middle Market commercial and industrial loans most of which have some formula or asset based component. She assures that assets are properly marked to market in accordance with regulatory guidelines and develops executes and/or oversees various workout strategies including restructure, note sale, secured party sale, and recapitalization, as well as those within the bankruptcy process.

Kate currently resides in Falmouth, Maine with her husband Kevin and their three girls aged 4, 9, and 11.

Caitlin Martell, Assistant VP, Asset Based Lending, BDC Capital

Caitlin Martell performs field examinations focusing on accounts receivable and inventory for prospective and existing borrowers. In addition, Caitlin is a portfolio manager and helps analyze the day-to-day collateral records provided by the clients in the ABL portfolio.

Caitlin graduated from Stonehill College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.
